Our Team
In the 1960's when demand for power in British Columbia was rising, BC Hydro & Power Authority responded by building the largest earth-filled dam ever built to that time - the WAC Bennett Dam. Along with its associated generation facilities and other similar projects that followed in the 1970's and 1980's came a province-wide network of high voltage transmission lines that were required to deliver this power to homes, offices, commercial developments and industry all across the Province. As the demand for power continues to grow, so does the need for new generation and recently the 1,100 MW Site C development was announced. So the trend continues...

R&R Utility's co-founder, Bill Robertson, P.Eng., was fortunate enough to have been involved with the planning and construction of these early transmission systems as a BC Hydro inspector and Resident Engineer from 1975-1982. He then worked with other utilities, consultants and contractors in Canada and abroad in order to diversify his experience in the transmission line industry. Since returning to British Columbia, Bill has been involved with many power sector projects and has gained a well-deserved reputation as a respected transmission line professional.

Bill believes in transferring his knowledge to the younger generation of up and coming professionals who are interested in entering the industry. During the formation of R&R Utility, he discovered Stephen Randall, EIT and decided he would be an ideal recruit. He is a recent graduate from the UBC engineering program and has acquired ample field experience on the 500 kV Interior to Lower Mainland Transmission Line. Stephen has proven that hard work and a willingness to absorb as much information as possible will facilitate the success of R&R Utility.
